A couple weeks ago Santa Monica hosted the Glow Arts Festival, an overnight arts celebration event that showcased all original artwork. It sounded promising since they were announcing everywhere that Santa Monica pier would be transformed into a massive outdoor museum for a night. Unfortunately, the event was not what I was hoping for. There was not much glow, and the art exhibits were just a few and far between. People in general seemed very disappointed, but I was glad I went anyway. I had fun walking around the beach at night, enjoying the company of some good friends and getting to see these beautiful Solar Sculptures created by the artist Shana Koenig. Aren’t they amazing?
Before wishing you a nice start to the week, let me share these two inspirational quotes that convey meaning to these pictures.
“In tragedy and despair, when an endless night seems to have fallen, hope can be found in the realization that the companion of night is not another night, that the companion of night is day, that darkness always gives way to light, and that death rules only half of creation, life the other half.”
― Dean Koontz
“A misstep many make: they mistake darkness for meaning. They think light is easy. They think light will find a way through the crack in the door by itself. But it doesn’t – you have to open the door and let it in.”
― Melanie Gideon
Have a great week!
